Dear Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society,

It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Frank Jamison for the Ralph W. Tyler Laureate Doctoral Scholarship. He is an exceptional scholar who advances the field with his teaching and service.

I know Frank from his time in my qualitative research course at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Frank first stood out when he demonstrated his deep understanding and analysis of AI tools and ChatGPT. His work in the course demonstrated understanding of research design and excellent writing ability. His papers are suitable for publication, given his advanced use of language and the skilled method in which he communicates.

His teaching skills are evident in his work as a lab technician at Mt. San Jacinto College. In this role, Frank goes above and beyond to support student academic and social-emotional outcomes. With his consistent support and teaching, he assists over 50 students in laboratory activities. He believes in the full potential of students and supports them in a holistic manner. This is also evident in his work as a StemX tutor, where he works with lowincome students to support them in developing math skills.

Frank also holds many leadership roles. In addition to his teaching position, he serves as an APA district 15 policy liaison to Oregon state, holds the senate treasurer position at Mt. San Jacinto college, and is an equal employment opportunity advisory committee member at Mt. San Jacinto college. In these roles, Frank engages in advocacy, development, implementation and evaluation of association and college initiatives. His ability to balance many roles and responsibilities is evident.

Most notable is Frank’s energy and passion for learning and supporting students in their educational paths. Frank stands out as a teacher who loves what he does and is excited to work in education and use technology to improve student outcomes.

On a personal level, Frank is a highly collaborative and respectful individual. His team approach, in addition to his commitment to students, makes him a valued team member. His knowledge of student development, coupled with his interest in evidence-based practices in education and technology, make him an outstanding candidate for the scholarship.
